I'm a-ok Pete - not to worry. I am sure we can get things rolling here Don't worry it wasn't wasn't highjackers -- just some people decided it was time for TCB to spread its wings and create its own board -- so reluctantly that's what we'll do....

Glad to hear it, Justmy. The young fella was in tears last night. I stayed up and oiled the irons and fed the horse. I thought it mighta been that d**ned Yowie that gotcha. I was comin' to get him. Then I saw that you were OK, so I can go back to bed now. Hey, Justmy. Reckon you can stick that `Welcome to Oz' thread up top again. Spinifex sent you a post of when the various acts from Tamworth will be on the Telstra video site but the darned fool forgot to tell ya to set back your clocks 15-19 hours, depending where you live. Listen to that galah and you'd be sitting down to a blank screen. Tell ya what, Justmy. Here's an international clock that'll help you good folk figure out when to watch. www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/full.htmlIf where you live is not on there, folks, just pick somewhere nearby. That'll do the trick. While you're there too, Justmy. I heard in passing that Heather Myles might be paying us a visit. I've seen her name on the Board. Is she good?

Good thinkin', young fella. Hey, Justmy. Spinifex just told me that lots of you folks wouldn't be able to use the World Clock here because Tamworth doesn't get a mention. Just use Sydney. Tamworth is in the same State, about 250 miles north-north-west, and is in the same time zone. Glad to see there's a brain under all that hair too, Spinifex. Surprised me.

Thanks Ted -- will try and tune it in if I can figure out the world clock thing Heather Myles -- she's the real deal -- the reader's picked her as TCB's female artist for 2003. Her latest album is Sweet Talk and Good Lies -- if you listen to the webcast you might have heard "Nashville's Gone Hollywood" As you folks would say "it's a ripper!" I pegged this to the top for you

I pegged this to the top for you Thanks, Justmy. You're dead right. Heather sure is `a ripper'. Just had her singing a couple of songs for me. She's due here in the 2nd. 1/2 of March. No venues mentioned yet though. But I don't think I'll have to ride too far.

Glad you found her music Ted -- I think you mentioned this before but.....look at who else is headed your way....
Terri Clark's finally getting to perform in Australia. She had originally planned to go "Down Under" a few years ago, but the terrorist attacks of September 11th forced her to cancel her tour plans. In the last two-and-a-half years she's been able to play for audiences across North America, but only now is she able to make good on her Aussi trek. The tour begins tonight and runs through the end of the month.
I've seen her live a few times -- you're in for a great show if she's spot on and has her full band!

Yep! For some unknown reason they don't have her venturing too far into the hub of our civilisation. But she is venturing right to the hub of our heritage. I'll be hitching up the horse next Wednesday for my long trip to the foot of the mountains to see Terri.

Curses, had to work so I missed Terri on webcast. Never mind, I'll catch her live next week. New videos from Tamworth are up and running including the Starmaker Final (new young talents coming through) and an `unplugged' performance by Canada's Corb Lund: telstra.com/countrywide/countrymusic/html/events/countryMusicFestival.aspJust click on videos. They should change fairly regularly (maybe every day) so check it out regularly to ensure you don't miss out.

The CMAA Awards, the jewel in the crown of the Tamworth Country Music Festival, was held last night. Here's a list of the winners direct from the CMAA. www.countrymusic.asn.au/2004winners.htmlA complete victory for Australiana, and an utter wipeout (you know that that means, LS) for HNC, which never really caught on here anyway. Not doubt there'll be more videos coming up over the next few weeks covering pertinent aspects. When I get my hands on some of the songs I'll shoot 'em over, Justmy. My thoughts on it all? Well, the total results were probably a little too Australiana for me. Song of the Year: `Raining On The Plains' is a ripper - full on Oz vocal from Sara Storer and John Williamson with excellent backup bluegrass tinge. I thought Beccy Cole's `Blackwood Hill' was most unfortunate to lose. But I think it was a matter of two bottlers (that's another word for ripper) clashing and only one could win. You'd love Trev Warner's `Peel Street Pickin''. And I was glad to see my favourite, Graeme Connors, get a blazer as well.

Thanks for the report Ted! I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I heard how many Sara took home and as equally happy to see that Trev took one home as well!

Wow! Went to see Terri last night at Panthers. Great show. Great mix of traditional country and rock 'n roll. And best country spectacle I've seen since the Garth Brooks and Shania Twain offerrings a few years back. The show was kicked off by Oz CMMVOTY Adam Harvey. Adam played his hits plus a number of his comedy songs (real good) and even included a new song `Louisiana Rendezvous' which he says George Strait is considering for his new album. Adam's back up guitatrist, Stuart French, is a talent too. Adam played for 45 minutes, followed by a 15 minute break. Then on came Terri's band, followed by Terri. Straight into it - `Pain To Kill'. Full on. The show comprised songs from `Pain To Kill' as well as all of Terri's hits. Lights, smoke, the works. Actually, Terri has released a special commeroration album of `Pain To Kill' which has a bonus album of her former hits. Selling like hotcakes on ebay, says Terri. I got mine, but the difference is mine is autographed. That's a bonus too. Part of the show I probably liked best was when the band left the stage leaving Terri all alone. Terri spoke of her early struggles in Nashville, and particularly working/playing at `Tootsies'. Terri let loose with many of the offerings of classic artists - including Patsy `Walking After Midnight', Loretta `Coalminer's Daughter', Hank `You Cheatin' Heart', etc, etc. This segment demonstrated what an exceptional talent Terri is IMO. Terri then impersonated many male country singers. She said it was very popular in her early days at Tootsies. Brought the house down. Real good. And I was even able to identify most of the male . Then on came the band again and once again the music was full on. Good musicians: steel guitarist sporting the `Slim Dusty' look (wearing a hat like Slim used to). Drummer was from Memphis, but his drums were marked `Brisbane Backline', and he had a toy kangaroo on his stand, which Terri and the band courtesied to a couple of times. And Terri's fiddler is a ripper too - little girl from Arkansas and, boy, can she play. Toward the end, much of the crowd broke ranks and ran to the stage, for a bit of phto-taking, hand shaking, and dancing. Didn't effect me though. I had a great seat. Terri was right in the spirit of things even including `See the Panthers play ball' in her hit `I Wanna Do It All'. Panthers are the current national champions in Rugby League down here. Could be an omen for the Superbowl here. Terri was back for encores and finished up with a great version of Rod Stewart's `Stay With Me'. A great night.
