New Dale. Great stuff. Good all the way through. Also, new Loretta, part excellent, part misguided. Still glad I got it.

I think 68 may have been the best one (although that's saying something!). Country at it's absolute best. That original series, 1950-1972 was terrific.

Hi there, I'm a newbie, very impressed by the list of everything everyone is listening to. What great taste the posters here have! I've been listening a lot to Al Anderson's new cd, After Hours, which can only be gotten from his website, www.bigalanderson.comIt's really swell - shifting seamlessly back and forth between jazzy, countrified, and gospel-infused songs. His voice is so sexy and his playing is so masterful and his songwriting is sublime. I love it. Other than that, I'm listening to: Haggard Vernon Oxford Hank Snow Del McCoury Roger Miller Carl Smith Johnny Paycheck you know, the pantheon of greatness. I like Loretta's new album but it is pretty rocking. Can't get used to the drums - the guy just banging on his kit. Wish the whole album was like "Miss Being Mrs."

Last night & today:
Willie Nelson - The Troublemaker (one of his better efforts in the 70's IMO)
Lawton Williams - Between Truckstops (a superb set of truckin' songs recorded by the writer of "Fraulein")
Waylon - Are You Ready For the Country (well, not his finest, I know, but still has its moments)
Joe Ely - Honky Tonk Masquarade (his second album, a killer set of meaty Texas honky tonk - sounded even better I than recalled! You guys are probably familiar with this one, but if not, this one's too good to pass up!)
