Gee Rascalita; Those are the exact same songs I've been playing for some time now. I have extreme dificulty learning anything new. There does seem to be a new one coming on strong lately though. Its called "Frustration" I don't listen to any thing while on line, unless I'm getting it from on line. The drop outs are too frequent on dialup.

Not country, but good. Norah Jones newie. Herad that Josh Turner `Long Black Train' a couple of times recently. I like it. Heard there was some sorta fuss about it over there. What was that all about?

There was a group of people who work hard to educate the public about suicide that thought Josh's song had the potential to cause people to do just that....
Listening today to:
Merle Haggard - Live in Philadephia (man, country music was soooooo good back then) Billy Yates - Country - Billy's a well known Nashville songwriter but his own albums are treasures as well - this album's title says it all - I get a real kick out of the track "Smokin' Grass"

Thanks, Justmy. Gee, they're drawing a long string to their bow if they think a song would cause people to do that. Guess they think some are real impressionable?
Hey, on Nora. That track - `Creepin' In' sure sounds country to me. It has a real Dolly Parton feel about it. Or is that Dolly singing with Nora? Sure sounds like it. Good stuff.

Hey Rascalita, practicing on the steel can be confusing, even frustrating but at least we practice!! They say practice makes perfect, so maybe me and your hubby are becoming perfect. By the way, I've been listening to "The Old Dogs" CD. That's Waylon Jennings, Mel Tillis, Jerry Reed and Bobby Bare. Not to give away my age but I can identify with a lot of what they sing about

Glad to hear you're enjoying the webcast JD -- it's what I'm listening to tonight as well -- BR549 is singing I'll Be Yours and You'll Be Mine as I type steelplayer -- I'm thinking we may be in the same age bracket Old Dogs was the ultimate country music supergroup -- I remember the night they were first on Ralph Emery's show (ahhh the glory days of TNN) and they introduced their new 'group' Was a great night..... now playing on TCB's webcast - Johnny Bush Time Changes Everything...

They say Lisa Marie has a voice of the like of Sheryl Crow or Cher. I agree with that. Not a bad singer. She seems to have a few of the stage mannerisms of her dad too. But musicwise: I was at the wrong show. Most was this modern boom boom sort of stuff. The only song I enjoyed was the encore which was an Aretha Franklin song. Youngies were screaming and running to stage. Oldies were just sitting there stunned, with some headed for the exits. I considered that too, but I stuck it out as I did not wish to insult The King by walking out on his kin. Missussted turned to me and said: `She hasn't won any fans amongst us, Wallaby.' Still, the fault was mine not Lisa Marie's. If I'd known what I was in for I wouldn't have gone. I declined a show nearer my tastes to go and see this one. What else can I say? In all fairness, I think she has a pretty good voice and performs her chosen genre well. Just that her genre is definitely NOT my cup of tea.
