I'm probably way behind on this, but in case anyone didn't catch it, George Jones' appearance at the Opry on 1/17 was special. Did a gospel song and one of his classics in both of his segments. I'm man enough to admit this; I cried like a baby when he did "Who's Gonna Fill Their Shoes". His faltering voice just makes the song that much more poignant. Check the show in the archives at WSM's site, if you havent' already done so.

Glad to hear you say this Raider -- after George's performance that night there were some who called his voice weak and suggesting he should just retire -- obviously they don't get that the messenger is just as powerful as the words sometimes -- hopefully they were also in the minority...
Reminds me of my thoughts on Johnny Cash's Hurt -- it was so poignant and affecting because of who he was and the journey he'd been on that made that song so memorable....

I'm glad someone else thought that the Possums performance was great.
