Cross Canadian Ragweed will release their first studio album in two years on March 9, 2004, titled Soul Gravy. A small quantity of CDs will be available in a limited edition package, which includes a free concert DVD. Recorded in College Station, Texas, the bonus DVD includes over an hour of live concert footage.
The limited edition package as well as the CD only package will be released the same day. Because packaging of the two releases are almost identical, fans are advised to seek out the limited editions while quantities last.
Ragweed's major label debut was their self-titled album released in 2002. Over the past year the band has opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top and just finished touring with Johnny Lang.
After releasing four albums on their own Underground Sound label and selling over 70,000 copies, the band felt ready to take their music nationwide. In 2002, they signed with Universal South Records, the joint venture between Universal Records and highly respected music executives Tim DuBois and Tony Brown.
