Got an advance of Zona Jones new album "Harleys & Horses today! WOW!! First off - it's on D Records -- which alone speaks volumes because these fellas know good country music when they hear it and in the tradition of Pappy Daily they are intent on giving a hand up to those who fill the bill -- Zona is a great addition to the roster that also has Jamie Richards and Jason Allen. I'll showcase the album soon, and we'll be doing a review but in the meantime you can check out clips at www.zonajones.com

Found in the newsletter thread * In the January 30th Music Row Report, Robert K. Oermann as this to say about Zona Jones' new single: “House of Negotiable Affections,” “Houston's little D label continues to impress me with its commitment to hard country music. This guy's ode to a "cat house" is a terrific western swinger, complete with tickling ivories, slippery fiddles and scampering steel.” We got this one across our desks and echo Oermann's thoughts -- D Records has done it again -- www.zonajones.com/Music/Samples/House%20Of%20Negotiable%20Affections%20(Sample).mp3 Listen to TCB's webcast for this and other tracks from Zona's debut album "Harleys and Horses" [glow=red,2,300]TEXT[/glow] Once again I'm in agreement with Mr Orman. However his voice is not quite what I like for "Green Snakes On the Ceiling" Danny Roy Young and I had a chat back in 98 when a comp album was released with Don Walser's version and I said it just did not fit his style either. I think you need a certain mature growl to pull it off.
